Institutions now have up until 31 January 2006 to submit access agreements for 2007-08.
Director of Fair Access, Sir Martin Harris has confirmed that the submission date for access agreements for 2007-08 has been extended from September 2005 to 31 January 2006 to allow institutions more time to gauge the impact of fees on the market. He said:
“It is important that institutions are given as much time as possible to make sensible decisions about whether to charge higher fees. It is certainly something that we have discussed with the Association of Colleges, and now we are more familiar with the process we are in a position to be a lot more flexible with the timetable. We are considering extending the deadline beyond 31 January 2006 if this would further aid institutions in judging the market, and warmly welcome any comments that institutions may have on this issue.”
