OFFA comments on NUS survey of student input in access agreements

Commenting on a National Union of Students (NUS) survey of how many universities and colleges consult with their student unions when drawing up their OFFA-approved access agreements, Sir Martin Harris, Director of Fair Access to Higher Education, said:

“We have been working closely with the NUS to identify ways in which we can encourage universities and colleges to consult students when drawing up their plans for outreach and financial support. Our guidance to institutions on their access agreements for 2013-14 will give greater detail on this.

“Student unions who wish to comment on their university’s access agreement have always been able to do so and we will continue to welcome this.”

The report, ‘Students’ unions’ experiences of the 2012 access agreements: Report of outcomes from access agreement consultation conducted by NUS’ (NUS, January 2012) is available from the NUS.
